Nathan Fillion has finally found a steady acting gig in Castle, and as further proof that his show is starting to thrive, Entertainment Weekly reports that the ABC series has landed its first big-name guest star: Alyssa Milano. OK, biggish-name guest star.

The former Charmed actress has signed on to play Kyra, a former love of Fillion’s title character, who reappears in Castle’s life unexpectedly. The really unexpected part is that Castle runs into his ex on her wedding day to another man - but old feelings between Kyra and Castle begin to surface. And, predictably, Detective Beckett (Stana Katic) picks up on the chemistry between the former loves and can’t help feeling a little jealous - though she’d never admit it.

Milano’s episode won’t air until 2010, but we’re betting it will be her best work since her 1980s Teen Steam workout video.

Rose McGowan was seriously injured filming for fiancé Robert Rodriguez’s movie remake of the comic book franchise Red Sonja, the actress has revealed. McGowan suffered severe injuries to her elbow and wrist while filming stunts for Red Sonja. As a result of her injuries, the film has been placed on indefinite hiatus.

In an interview with FoxNews.com, Rose McGowan dishes on how an injury on the set brought production of Red Sonja to a standstill. While doing a stunt for the movie, McGowan did some serious damage to her arm. The injury was serious enough to require surgery to remove part of her elbow.

The actress reportedly endured nerve damage severe enough that her arm was virtually useless. Only now, she says, is she regaining the ability to eat and drive with the injured limb and faces another six months of physical rehab.

The Grindhouse and Charmed star was previously injured in a car accident in 2007. McGowan was slashed in the face during the wreck and needed plastic surgery to repair the damage.

McGowan’s starring role in the Red Sonja movie remake was announced way back in June, 2008. However, repeated delays have left fans questioning whether the film will ever make it to theaters. McGowan posted a Twitter update on Red Sonja saying she is still contracted to star in the movie, but filming would be delayed until 2010.

Actress Rose McGowan announced on Twitter that she will be in Iowa to film indie movie “Dylan’s Wake.” Filming starts the week of August 31. Here’s what she said:

‘Breaking news!! I’m heading to Iowa to film a movie called Dylan’s Wake. Very well written indie. my co-star is Nick Stahl-so talented. directed by Omar Naim who did The Final Cut, which I loved.”

We first knew about the “Dylan’s Wake”/Iowa connection when we announced the local casting call in late July.

McGowan is a 35-year old actress best known for her role as Paige Matthews in the WB show “Charmed” from 2001-2006. She dated and became engaged to metal musician Marilyn Manson before breaking it off in 2001.

Stahl, 29, is well known for his role alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger in “Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines.”
